The first in a series of entrepreneur videos is Mary Stevenson. She’s a single mom with four kids that decided to take a leap of faith and open her own business in Baker City, Oregon. I first talked to Mary back in March and was immediately taken with her very personal story about following her dream. Mary opened Earth and Vine in the heart of the recession, November 2008. She knew that even when the economy is bad, especially when the economy is bad, people want to connect and feel like the community is still in tact, so she took the plunge. It was a sink or swim moment but Mary equipped herself with a generous dose of self-confidence and positive attitude and this year was recognized as entrepreneur of the year by the Northeast Oregon Economic Development District.
