Why Add a Comment?
A variety of community bloggers and special guests contribute to the RIPPLE blog. They offer their perspectives on rural life and hope to foster dialogue about issues that are relevant to both rural and urban dwellers—such as how to sustain economic development in rural areas, how tourism impacts small towns, and how the challenges of rural living are offset by unique advantages. These bloggers participate in discussions and try to respond to comments.

What to Expect
While Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) manages the RIPPLE site, the views presented by community bloggers on RIPPLE are not necessarily the views of RDI, RIPPLE sponsors such as the Ford Family Foundation, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, or the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, or other partners or organizations featured on the site.
RDI does not tolerate blog posts that include personal attacks, profanities, or discriminatory or inflammatory remarks based on age, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Bloggers may not disclose personal contact information or include for-profit advertising in their blogs. RDI removes blog posts that do not meet these standards.
Please be aware that comments are not moderated by RDI, so it’s up to everyone to treat each other well. Please do so! Commenting often creates opportunities for differences of opinion to emerge, so be prepared for folks to politely disagree with you.
RDI does take commenting abuse seriously and reserves the right to delete comments that contain profanities or attack individuals. RDI may also block users who repeatedly abuse the comments feature to post spam or use profane or violent language.
If you are participating in a blog discussion and you want to flag abusive comments, or flag a blog post itself, send an email to RDI at ripplehelp@rdiinc.org with “Flagged Comment” or “Flagged Blog” in the subject line. Include identifying information such as the blog title, URL, the commenter’s name, and date of comment.
Otherwise, do your best to contribute to the conversation, and have fun!
