WELL FOLKS I’ve been here in Sutherlin for 5 months and I have a 2 year old business and no business plan-although I know I need one I just don’t know how to get started so if you can help me build one please by all means make suggestions. I don’t know what the first step is. My business is a internet prison bookstore which I know I should incoprorate but since I have not turned a profit I haven’t even thought about that. I have a webstore http://www.jacbrowns.com I send in brochures to prisoners across the country so they can order books. I have about 7K inmates names and id # but I ahve not been able to do a total mass mailing to all 7000 capital is lacking shall we say. My cafe here in sutherlin consist of 12 computers and I offer herbal teas, columbian coffee, and bottled water as well as coco. Thats the gist of the cafe. LOL My internet cafe opens at noon and closes at 7:00pm I did that to attract those who wanted to take an on-line course. My days of operation is Mon-Sat The fee to use the computers is $2.00 /hour and wifi is unlimited for $2.00 I have 1 assistant who works with me. I offer personal shopping to the inmates, as well as personal shopping and dress out service. Books can be ordered on-line by regular Joes and Joesphines as well as a brochure they can mail to a family member in prison. I need grant money to do advertising and mass mailings, so that means I need to do a business plan but I am for profit although I do have a business that I would like to form under a 501 (3) c Fallen Angels a re-entry program I designed which would allow a newly releashed prisoners to come to a job/living housing unit. the work would be in the (for example) cafe, helping me with answering letters, stuffing envelopes, ordering books calling insane prison mail room supervisors, adding books into the next catalog, answering the phone and a whole host of things that a prison bookstore needs to do. If this is not enough information to help with the business plan please just contact me.
