Book reviews

People sharing comments or reviews about the books they read through this program sure seems like a good idea to me.  (Guess no one did, yet?) I’m sure ALL the books are good, and it might help someone choose which one to select next.

I learned about the SELECT BOOKS program in the invitation to join an initial cohort in this area (via the Spring 2008 Community Vitality).  I honestly thought that “ONE BOOK” and “only ONE” really meant just that.  I didn’t go online (slow dial-up connection) and didn’t understand it represented “one at a time, you may have another after you write a review.” I struggled to decide between a book I wanted as a Foundation board member and one I wanted to read personally.  Unable to choose, I did nothing.

Now I know better ... excuse me, I need to go order a book.

P.S.  If you post your review of The Tipping Point, or even just some brief comments, perhaps that will encourage others to post something too.

Hi!  I am a member of the Ford Foundation Leadership Class in LaPine, Oregon (30 miles south of Bend, Central Oregon).

I have just finished reading my first book from the SELECT BOOKS program offered by the Ford Institute and I wonder if anyone would be interested in sharing their book reviews?

I read THE TIPPING POINT by Malcolm Gladwell and am willing to share my review. (I can recommend this reading).

P.S.  I look forward to meeting all of you in Eugene in November.
