RippleNW.org  •  RIPPLE Community Forums

Let’s get it started!

It was great to see you all at the Regional Community Conference at Running Y on March 14-15th.  I thought I would try to open up the conversation here as it relates to Mike Stolte’s presentation.  I hope that I’m not the only one to post here.

This is actually my very first time using a “forum”, not just RIPPLE, but any forum for that matter.  It is easy!  So any of you out there, that are a little hesistant - give it try.  If I can do, you can do it.

Remember Mike will respond to the forum after his vacation with his family this week, but don’t let that stop you from talking with others about it, until then.

Hi Everyone,

In reviewing the evaluations from the conference, it is good to see how much you all enjoyed this session. We wanted to help you start the discussion in your community about how you can increase the vitality of your community. The Community Vitality Index is well researched and based on information from throughout North American and around the world.  Attached is the tool I mentioned at the end of Mike’s presentation.  It will help you develop strategies to move your community to the next level.  Let me know if you have any questions too or better yet, let Mike know.

Sincerely,
Sincerely,
Craig Smith

Greetings everyone,

The file was too big so I am going to see if I can get someone to reduce the size so check back soon, it should be here.

Okay Yvette you are not alone.  Your instructions work!
The conference was great.  Mike’s presentation was very good.  It’s amazing how communities are so much alike.  I like that his town choose an identity which was rich with history and culture. He’s right...people will drive out of their way to visit and want to live in communities that not only identify themselves but pull together for the common good.

Anita

Hi Anita,

What a pleasure to see you post on the site. I’m really sorry that I wasn’t able to attend the conference. All of the feedback I’ve heard from people who have attended has been extremely positive. I’m hoping that I see you this fall when I’m working in Winston.

That’s great Bob you will be in Winston!  At the conference I was mindful to where a name tag for Sutherlin as well as Winston.  I split myself up into giving time to both groups.  I’m sorry you couldn’t have made it because it was a very good conference. Ask Yvette about the video.  It was great and the Ford Institute purchased it.
Winston is a great community to work in and the locals come by my office to chat quite frequently.  I would like very much to be part of the second class.  I’m not sure how to get on the list but let me know when it is time.
