Effective Organizations

Classes for Your Organizational Skills

This two-weekend training is designed to assist organizations in becoming more effective in achieving their missions. For two weekends (Friday and Saturday) participants interact with each other and learn important tools including: strategic planning, board development, fund development and resource management. Non-profit organizations (churches, PTAs, etc.), government organizations (city councils, etc.), and even for-profit businesses can benefit from the tools presented in these workshops.

Topics covered include:

  • Strategic Planning: Learn how to focus your organization’s time and resources by clarifying your mission and establishing specific goals and strategies that will move you toward making that mission a reality.
  • Organizational Leadership: Learn how to develop a board of directors that is focused on the organizational mission, establish clear roles and responsibilities, develop good board/staff relationships and increase board involvement.
  • Resource Development: Did you know that respect for your staff is a key reason people contribute money and time to organization? Learn how to use your staff effectively in resource development, and build strategies to secure and grow resources (human, financial, strategic partners, etc.) necessary to move your organization forward.
  • Resource Management: Wise resource management earns the respect of potential funders, and ensures the organization has resources available to achieve its mission. Learn about processes and tools to manage programs, finances and human resources, and design practical strategies for managing your resources.

These four topics are closely interrelated and are integral to the effectiveness of an organization. For example, among the top 10 reasons people give to an organization are: 1) the organization’s mission, 2) respect for the organization’s staff and board of directors, and 3) the organization uses resources wisely.

Through interactive, facilitated-learning, participants have a chance to apply their real life experiences and to network with others to establish ongoing support and communication. Don’t miss this useful and fun-filled opportunity.
