Toward Energy Efficient Municipalities (TEEM) is proposing a woody biomass thermal heating initiative to install state-of-the-art wood pellet thermal heating systems at all Oregon schools currently heating with oil or propane furnaces. The benefits include utilizing a renewable energy source; Woody Biomass (WB) is sustainable and CO²-neutral and is less expensive, which would result in schools’ heating budgets to be cut in half.
This initiative would benefit Oregon by improving forest and community safety and creating local jobs. TEEM would serve as the project management firm and would aggregate a minimum of 12 schools into the initiative with staggered deployments.
